When I look back and see my perfectly curated fridge posts from 2017, I feel a sense of sterility. My fridge pics would always perform so well because people love neurotic, aspirational, unrealistic content. We’re all dreamers, baby.

Though I am cognitively aware that I would spend 2–3 hours prepping my fridge before taking these photos for Instagram—and that I would specifically place things for aesthetic over functionality (then move them back)—I still have fridge envy for my past self. Paleo granola, homemade pesto, organized seeds and nuts in French Weck jars, tons of belly-boosting, gut-punching products in there… and really no condiments at all.

Lee From America Fridge, circa 2017

Seven years later, my fridge looks a little different. This time, I buy all my own groceries. In the pics above, many of those products were sent to me: the kombucha, granola, seeds, juices, coconut yogurt, avocado, kraut, chocolate, and microherbs.

Now, I do most of the shopping myself. And I have a lot more condiments. And though this isn’t going to be your aspirational fridge pic like it was in my wellness influencing days, I think there’s still value in peeking into someone else’s fridge to gain inspiration, recommendations, and ideas. Also, IDK about you, but looking into someone’s fridge gives me such pleasurable voyeurism.

Below is my very real, very lived-in fridge. I organized it by category to make it easy to screenshot or use as grocery inspo:

  • condiments & sauces

  • spreads & jams

  • dairy

  • produce

  • n/a beverages

  • and miscellanious
