I contain multitudes. Part of me is Patagonia, leggings, and wool; the rest of me is silk and lace. It’s like I have two identities colliding in my closet: wool/fleece/utilitarian (Brooklyn) and silky/lacey/sultry (Manhattan).

Last year I looked at my closet and realized it was built for running errands in Vermont, and I don’t even live there! So I started adding more Friday night non-alc-aperitif-kind-of tops into the mix.

Some of you must have noticed because I received specific requests to round up my favorite tops. Here they are—from vintage to GAP to high-end. Prices range from $32–$195. All sultry… no farmer’s market. (But if you did show up to the farmer’s market in one of these tops, don’t be surprised if the farmer gives you an extra carrot 😍)

  1. GAP Bistretch Corset Top: $47

Unfortunately, this top is sold out in most sizes but let it be known: Do Not Sleep On GAP. They are having a renaissance and you can wear a $45 top and feel like a million bucks (at least I do). It may restock, but in the meantime, it looks like this one from Aritzia is still in stock. (This one on Veronica Beard is also cute and has plenty of sizes!)

To see the rest of my picks, you gotta pay up. Lace isn’t free.
